TR6 Shipping a non-running TR6

Hi guys - I am happy to say I found a great home for my TR6 shell. She is going to WI where she will be used as a reshell for a father and son project. Very nice buyers - I am thrilled she is going to live again. (I should probably have kept her and done the same thing except I'm irrationally attached to my rusty TR6).

I told them I'd help get some recommendations on shipping a non-running car to them. I already explained that shipping a car, any car, is a major pain and not a very precise experience. I also, before we agreed on terms, made it clear that there would be extra effort and likely expense on a shell.

I'd really like to pass along any accumulated wisdom and recommendations to help these guys out. Any ideas/experience to share?

Thanks!

Tom, take it apart and send it in a lot of 12X12 boxes. Might as well have the guys learn a little while they are at it.
