Shims and pins

Just received new anti squeal shims and new retaining pins for front calipers.
Have'nt had time to check pin diameter, (50/50!), but the anti sqeal shims are different from the shims now on the caliper(took right side apart to learn parts and put back together). Original shims completely square, new one 3/4, pins line up alright.Whats the deal?

Can't answer as I have never obtained replacement shims. My recollection of the originals is that they were the same profile as the back of the pad.

FWIW - you might want to use some 'blue goo' anti-squeal stuff behind & between... I didn't (TR4) and soon took them apart a second time to add it as it was 'squealing like a pig'.
