Hi, before taking decision to install Sebring gearset I made a simple analysis between the original gearset and Sebring, see attachment. The original gearset step 1st-2nd is quite small thus making an engine speed drop during gearshift more sensitive.
Also to start rolling I have always used the procedure to first engage 2nd, in order to use the synchromesh to stop rotation of the ingoing shaft, then with clutch still released engage 1st gear. With the new gearset I occasionally face the problem with "teeth against teeth", first gear will not engage and need to unrelease clutch to start the procedure again. It probably comes with the geometry of first gearset. The upside is that the ingoing shaft speed is zero, i.e. no dragging clutch.
Sebring is great fun, if using a noise cancelation device
