Shifter On '92

This shifter is a bit strange and I sure would like to hit third (3rd) gear more often. What is the best/cheapest way to fix this and remove the sloppy/vague feeling when you shift it?

TIA

Steve

I installed a short throw shifter (easy to do) on my 1967. Not sure if newer Minis are the same general design. It is definitely shorter throw but not sure you would consider it more precise.

Thanks for the reply. I was looking for a cheap(er)remedy
