My restoration book says that the Shelly Jack on my BJ7 should be painted orange. Does anyone know if that's a saftey orange, reddish orange, etc.? Also how long is the bar that goes with the jack? I don't have one and may need to have one made. mac

The correct (original) color for these jacks is a reddish orange; what we used to call "Chinese Red" (although I suspect that that name may now be considered politically incorrect and it may be hard to find a paint named Chinese Red). In any case, it's a reddish oreange, NOT a "safety orange." Hope this helps.
