On the way back from Charlotte yesterday the Check Engine lite came on.

On my way to Dobson on Wed.
Wonder if Honda could squeeze me in tomorrow while I wait.
It's a long drive to the dealership so dropping it off is a huge problem.

Now my second thought
The AP fo the smart phones for computer code readers we were discussing a while ago ...what was the best product to buy for the plug in part??

Not sure about that, but the best product for those "Check Engine" lights is black tape.
 
If it was my 156K Safari ,no problem.
Think the Ody is still in Warranty
Like to stick it to the man if I can

I used something like THIS to bluetooth to a tablet. Torque for Android as the software. Really cool stuff. You can monitor all kinds of things while driving around. By monitoring fuel trims, I was able to figure out (with help) that my cats were bad.


 
Doc's right. Then disconnect the neg batt terminal and leave it off for 5-10 mins before reconnecting it.
 
First thing I did Doc. Did 2 hundred miles after it came on and it hasn't cleared. At least it ain't blinkin

We hadn't gotten gas in 200 miles + so don't think that was it ,would have come on sooner.
My wife's 09 Accord actually has a gas cap message on the dash that will light up.
Thanks Elliot...know how to clear it but that don't fix the fault

The word "THIS" has the link in the above post. Mine has a different logo, but the device is the same shape, including the three indicator lights. So probably the same manufacturer.
 
You do disconnect the cable..and hope it clears in 10 minutes...or, take the disconnected cable and touch it to the still connected cable.

Early General Misunderstandings we entered the BTB mode on the early idiotic computers.
Shared that at a computer seminar early on.
Instructor had zero clue, stopped the class, asked what the BTB mode was?

Break The Bulb.
 
Our 2004 CR-V's check engine light came on a few weeks ago (145,000 miles) & I replaced the gas cap because I suspected a bad seal & reset the light. Light stayed on. I have a scanner ("OBDLink LX Bluetooth") and it shows a bad O2 sensor heater or a blown fuse for same. I'll find out how accurate it is tomorrow morning.
