Shake, Rattle & Hum... CONTEST!!

This is for the '78 Midget.

I've got an increasing rattle coming from somewhere between the dash and the front passenger side wheel. It's really beginning to bug me. It increases with the vibration of the car. I put my hand on the dash, on the windshield all over but can't "feel" the rattle & can't make it decrease.
Please give me some ideas about where this noise is coming from - it's starting to drive me wacky!

Re: Shake, Rattle & Hum...

Clutch line?

Re: Shake, Rattle & Hum...

windshield washer jug?

Re: Shake, Rattle & Hum...

"Clutch line?"
"windshield washer jug?"

hmmm don't think so as both of those are over on the driver side (USA left side driver car).

Seems it's on the passenger (right) side and somewhere up under the dash?

Re: Shake, Rattle & Hum...

the washer jug on my car is over the passenger side wheel. on my 75 and my 79 was that way as well. i know because mine used to rattle as well.

Re: Shake, Rattle & Hum...

I've had the car over a month and this rattle is new.
It just started this week.
That's what really bothers me, as I am driving it to & from work every day.

It has nothing to do with the motor, that isn't where the sound is located. It's definitely over on the right side either up around the windshield or under the dash - right in that area.

One thing about it being so small is you really do notice every little thing...

Re: Shake, Rattle & Hum...

Defrost vent?

Re: Shake, Rattle & Hum...

I'm back inside after going out and looking around, I found the problem & fixed it. (I almost gave away way too much information there!)

You guys are so far off, and believe me it really isn't funny. Actually a bit grim.

Maybe we should have a contest, whoever guesses right gets a prize!

hmmm... what's in my little bag -o- prizes?

I see a shifter knob, wait I see two!

One is the shifter knob on my Midget right now. A chrome skull shifter knob! (soon to be replaced with an original Midget shifter knob that has the right shift pattern for my car) - post payed to USA addresses. If you are in some other country and you win I don't see why I couldn't send it to you too - as long as it isn't too expensive$$$.

The second is made for a Midget, but not mine. Reverse is over to the right & up. (mine is over & down)

I was going to ebay both of these but I think it would be better to hold a little contest here and give one away to the first of you folks who guesses correctly!

Your Choice!

What do you say? Up for a game?

Re: Shake, Rattle & Hum...

A mummified rodent in the glove box,
that skull shifter will go well with my chain link steering wheel.
