Spitfire SF Chronicle - 1969 Spit

Did anyone see the article in the CARS section of the May 9th edition of the SFC? It was contributed by Darrell Caraway. It shows him standing with his 1969 Triumph Spitfire.

I had a friend in High School who bought a beatup chock-blue Spitfire on the cheap ('64, I think). Initially, the second gear was shot, but the engine was strong. Once he got the mechanics straightened out, it was one helluva car! He never did anything to the exterior, which just added to its appeal, IMHO.

That was my first exposure to Triumph and I've been star-struck ever since.
