Here's seven brief reviews on interesting car books.

Another is a book on Lloyd Ruby.
There's a tome on Cords.
An insider view on Bruce McLaren's original company.
Bonneville.
etc.

Mmmm summer reading. Thanks!

i have been meaning to post that i recently got a copy of the book "My First Car." (Review below) not real deep but fun.

That one looks interesting. When looking for entries in the "Celebrity Healey" thread: https://www.britishcarforum.com/bcf/showthread.php?80993-Celebrity-Healeys I found from that book that Bruce Jenner almost had a Bugeye as his first car:

"I thought my first car was going to be an Austin-Healey Sprite, but I have a tragic story relating to that car. My dad taught me how to drive in Tarrytown, New York , in a grocery store parking lot.I was 15, turning 15, and he had a little Austin-Healey "bugeye" Sprite. It was red with white stripes. And it was the coolest little car; a convertible. It was a four speed, so he taught me how to drive a stick shift down in the parking lot. That was probably 3 or 4 months before I got my license. Of course I snuck it out a few times when he wasn't around. We lived in an apartment complex and I drove it around the complex and never got caught. My sister got caught because she bumped another car, but that's another story. The day I got my license, my dad sold the car."

While I did have a Bugeye as my first car, I never got any Kardashians.

Jenner was actually a pretty good car racer too:

(From Wikipedia: )

Bruce was a successful race car driver in the IMSA Camel GT series (International Motor Sports Association) in the 1980s. His first victory came in the 1986 12 hours of Sebring in the IMSA GTO class driving the 7-Eleven Roush Racing Ford Mustang with co-driver Scott Pruett, not only winning their class but finishing 4th overall in the 12 hour endurance race. His most successful year was also 1986 finishing second in the championship to Pruett

I'd rather have a Bugeye than a Kardashian - just sayin. Or a square body or a Pacer or a Chevette or a Yugo or a.....
