I stoPped and talked to the dip/ strip guy today. He said he have car about two weeks . Just bring It on a trailer. No dolly.
Still not sure what I'm going o do yet. I was only three blocks away at a doctors appointment and said what the heck. He said the use a water soluable metal conditioner that's good for a couple months ( stored inside).
I still have to tear the car down... Sooo I've got awhile.
All the parts are falling I to place.... One step at a time

Rear tires on Bugsy look like new, fronts well they reflect the effects of a front end that needed to be rebuilt. I took care of that last winter but still need to replace tires. Over the past 10 years < 1,000 miles per year has been put on Bugsy. And yes I am aware of the issue with sidewalls and cracking and potential failures. Unfortunately an upgrade to a stickier tire i.e. Sumitomo's that used to be available for a decent price is no longer an option. Tires are on the list to be addressed along with rebuilding dual Master cylinder( no honey those spots on the carpet on the basement stairs weren't from Bugsy but from your car we just got rid of, or the oil leak from "Duane" my '94 Suburban, No they weren't from my Topsiders after driving Bugsy. I won't discuss Castrol GT LMA on my carpets with her, she'd kill me), replacing Water pump and/or radiator to fix the High Speed overheat issue that doesn't show up for 90% of the driving I do running errands around town. Too much to fix that I need to find funds for.

IIRC, it costs about $2500 to dip, strip, and ecoat. Not cheap, but it looks like a good way to give a car a shot at lasting a really long time. By comparison my blaster/painter charges about the same to do the blasting, repair, epoxy primer, top coat and finish work including fitting the doors and bonnet. The part that I consider a big improvement is ecoating all the interior spaces a painter can't get to.

Not sure if still available or not. He's also got fenders, if you are entertaining the idea of losing 75 lbs from each end of the car with losing the
Rubber Bumpers.
One another thought he has a stripped Spridget Chassis ready for parts and pieces with a title for $200.00. Already in bare metal and does not need to be stripped. There are some challenges with dropping a 1500 lump into a earlier Spridget but I don't think they are insurmountable. some food for thought.

I had my TR6 chemically stripped... I first tried getting off the undercoating from the wheel wells and after I had enough, I decided the $900 to do EVERYTHING was worth it. It saved me tons of time, and if I did it myself it would not have come out as clean. I used a wand type sprayer to re-coat the inside of the rocker panels.
The chemicals did not attack the brass in any way.
