IMO, best way is to do it right once: drop the subframe and do it on the floor. Brakes become VERY easy to get to as well.

Thanks Doc.

How difficult a job to:
- drop and refit subframe
- change diff seals
- R&R brake calipers

What else would you do while the subframe is down?

Common causes: Diff side seals, and Pinion seal. Like Doc sez, drop the entire cage, rebuild the rear calipers, replace pads, both main and hand brake, replace the rotors if needed, and replace all the seals. Fairly low degree of difficulty, and if you do it all at once, you can forget about it for years.

...and if ya DON'T do it all once you'll become well-and-truly proficient at droppin' that subframe!

Built yourself a plate that will lock in to your floor jack. Weld a stud on top of the plate that will screw into the diff drain plug. Fit plate to diff, jack up the jack, lock in the plate...drop the hole cage and pull out.
I do not like bleeding the calipers though...shyte job that!
Be sure to put sealant on the inside of the flanges before fitting the washers and nuts.
