Spitfire Selling the Spit

I know I just got it, but its being sold. Amie and I decided to try and flip this car to invest in one that needs little less suspension work. I am trying to get twice what I paid for it. Gave 700. Listed for 1500, and will take anything over 1000. Hope it works out! It would be great seed money for a new spit, B, or spridget.

Hi There Malice;

WoW; I thought I turned over cars fast but You have me beat big time:

Good Luck in your endeavors;

Umm... as far as reasons for selling an LBC go, that is a rather weak excuse IMHO. How much suspension work does it need? I mean, all of the bushings can be replaced with new urethane bushings for about $100 and take maybe a couple of evenings after work... Even if it needs springs and shocks it's not a big deal. Both are fairly easy to repalce and fairly inexpensive... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

As long as the body is clean and the drivetrain doesn't make too many noises, I'd be extremely happy with a Spit for $800. maybe there's something I missed in the other threads...

Just whatever you do, don't decide to replace the wiring harness... dumbest project I've ever attempted... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/nonod.gif

IanF:

Wiring harness?

Sometimes one has no choice but to rip out all the K-mart
wires, stereo speaker wires, piano wires, banjo strings,
scotch tape connectors and clumps of black gooey stuff.
Particularly when nothing electrical functions except
the bare bones engine.

It only took me 5 months to install the Dan Master Power
Block entire car wire harness for my TR6. But I only worked
on it 2 to 4 hours per day.

Turn your car over to a Brit car broker for top
dollar profit.

I know a real slick Brit car salesman who could
probably get $16,000. for your car! Maybe more!

Heck, if I weren't married, I'd be sorely tempted to send you a check right now!

WHOA NELLY... WHOA GIRL!!!!

My advice to any member here is to use caution buying this NEW members car. "Flipping cars" is a term my sleazey used car salesman cousin always used when he was wheeling and dealing his junk cars. That was how I learned about that phrase.

hahaha. Well the problem is I don't have a place to work. This is the biggest issue. I live in a an upscale apt complex, and there are stringent rules about doing anything to a car that will leave it setting up for days. I can do the work, but it would be slow with handtools. If I could find a reasonable enough storage facility to do it at that would be good. But I checked into and none allow car work.

Hi Malice;

What about renting out a Garage? I would think someone relatively near You must have a Garage for lease?

It simply sounds like You want out of this car! I hope you get the $$$ your looking for:

Is It possible that in the few Hrs that You have owned her that You found some "Real Bad New Gremlins"?

Good Luck; Russ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

The suspensions is bad. The body rust is worse.
