Seen this set-up of carbs before?

Hi

I've gotten some feedback from a UK forum about these carbs i've been have laying around from a 1275 but though i might ask here as if anyone in the U.S has seen a pair of these over on your side of the water.

It's a pair of twin 125cd stormbergs on a Alexander Conversions Manifold supposedly a popular upgrade during the 80' but not many seem to have seen them before

Here's a picture

It was last fitted to a mini and there of the short rampipes due to clearance.

I'm very confused

Racingenglishcars wrote something like: The carburetors were mounted on a myriad of different english cars from the mid 60s. They are not known to be particularly good, but it was they were used for the emission requirement came to America because they had less inner friction and could better team ratio. They are actually lower than SU'er and possibly fit under a Spridget hood without modifications.

Personal I use an abbreviated MGB manifold with a pair MGB 1.5 "SU carb. Easy to make (just a little welding alloy) and cheap, with lots of hp to follow.
(The car is not finished yet)

Agguddaba replied something like: Jag will probably not use Stromberg were on my car is most interested in knowing more about them, so thanks for the feedback (have bought a Weber 45 a to replace my old leaky SU v)

Two 1.5? Have you tipped them down late MGB'n? Looks great in any case, how is the length of the inlet, do not know if they are angle but they look pretty short out?

Google translate is your friend.

translation:

Weber is certainly a much better choice over both SU and Stromberg.
My manifold is completely standard, including the angle, just shortened the car's length to fit an A-series engine. Flange where it bolts to the cylinder head was also cut short as they are also too wide. This setup is something well known from SCCA F-production, where 1275 Sprites (5 ports) would compete with the 1500 Midgets (8 ports), and therefore be allowed larger carburetors, when 1500 engines will be limited to a single carb

O.k JP, how'd you become so enlightened so quick? I'm still tryin' to figure out what happened with the chicken and the ping pong ball.

Hehe, JP google did quite a good job from Danish to English but the Swedish translation was just awful

And Kellys the Swedish muppet chef wasn't especially good with words but were always a really good illustrator like here for example
