Seen a nice "survivor" Bug Eye on the weekend

Was surprised to see a Bug Eye, let alone a pretty original example at the St.Ignace MI Car show this past weekend - owner got it from original owners wife, he said it looks like the drivers door had been involved in an accident somewhere along it's life but believes the rest is possibly original paint, still sports the remnants of rubber floor coverings ! He has just done normal maintenance on it, never been apart/restored - I don't think this car has been posted on here before, if so my apologies, just wanted to share with everyone, I was quite impressed !

Thanks for sharing. My early '58 had holes for a short tonneau as well. I wonder if that was a more popular option when the cars were first introduced.

Very nice survivor, thanks for posting!

Agree, very nice and an early car besides. I wonder what the chrome covers right behind the tonneau were for. Covering up holes made for a roll bar maybe?

I was wondering if they were some sort of crude seat belt anchors.
