Thanks, guys. Got it all unloaded and checked in.
I wound up with two early 948's, and a smoothcase transmission for a start. One of the engines is from a Morris Minor, and still has the single carb manifold on it, and the spud on the front for the hand crank. The other one is an early, "red fan" Bugeye engine. Complete, but disassembled. I picked this up at Shealeys', in Duluth.
The next stop was at forum member "Raymond"s place in Wisconsin. A big crank 1098, and the rest of the driveline of whatever it came installed in. I think I'll start a separate thread on this one, in "Other British Cars", and try to ID the donor vehicle. All three are complete including starters, generators, etc, but only the 1098 came with carburetion. Like I need a few more carburetors anyway!
All in all, a long and tiring, but satisfying trip. I got some stuff out of peoples way, freeing up important garage space, and got to meet two more of our members face to face.
So, in the past week, I've met three of our guys, and seen four of the five Great Lakes!
