Sebring Car For Sale...

when they say inquire when referring to the price I know it's out of my league. Wish they had a pic of how it is now though

For some reason, it always amazes me why the price for whatever their selling is not included in the ad. I personally would only want people calling me knowing how much their going to spend to buy whatever I'm selling and not a bunch of curiosity seekers. If they think the car is worth ???, say, $30,000, then tell the world that's want your asking. At least your going to get very interested parties calling. I usually get the drift that their asking a very inflated price and are embarrassed to post it. Maybe it's me, but I usually steer clear of those ads.

Being in the racing game, prices never shock me anymore. I would say the cost to the owner of the Huffaker MGB race car we did have exceeded $60K, inluding what he bought the car. The famous #11 Huffaker race car is for sale in Kansas for like $35K, and it needs a very extensive restoration to be put back original, I guess I am as good as anyone to put a guesstimate price on the restoration of that car and I would say not a penny under $60K making that car a easy $100K MGB. One of the Huffaker Sebring MGB factory cars sold for like $80K+ a year or so back, so I'm guessing this is what the owner of this car is hoping for, to cash in on the price that car brought or as close as he can get to that, however that car had been totally restored. How about a $72K racing Bugeye, it exist, I've even got to drive in few races. There was a new SCCA MGB race car built a couple of years ago, I know that build for that car has to be atleast $60K. If that doesn't blow your mind, how about a $13K Bugeye 948 race engine or a $8K racing transmission or wheels that cost over a $1K a piece. Absolutely nothing shocks me anymore in the price some people are willing to pay for speed or history. I keep telling myself, if you are crazy rich, then spending big bucks is easy when you have them, I'll never know personally, but sometimes I get lucky enough to help those people spend their money /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Big boys and their toys. Boy Hap, I know darn well I'll never have that kind of money either. Can I cry on your sholder.

Guess if you have millions a few thousands is of little concern.

Hap, I knew the price would probably be very high. It's amazing what people with an excess of money will pay for something they want. Example; I was witness to some of the final restoration of Donald Healeys personal Rolls Healey. The car is dubbed, The Million Dollar Healey! It's a beautiful restoration. Someone would have to have unlimited resources and be totaly in love with this car to pay that much for it if it went up for sale. At present, it's privatly owned and isn't for sale. PJ

I HAVE MORE PHOTOS.

We'd love to see more photos of that car! I've read about it, but not seen many pictures of it.

New Thread!

The Rolls Healey, is that one of a kind car, and truely a great car.

I have a racing friend, I won't name him here, he obvoiusly doesn't have any money problems, and buys and has had built some truely wonderful British racing cars. He has attended Goodwood many times, on one of his visits he saw an exhibit from a company that can reproduce any car known to man from aluminum. Well I guess he just had to get him some of that and decided a few years back to get this comapny to build him a all aluminum TR3 hot rod, at first it was fuel injected I believe it is webered now, it looks like a vintage race car on first peek, oh but it's so much more . Who knows what this cost my friend, I don't want to know, but this car is a piece of art as much as it is a car, it been covered in all the UK mags, but has slipped back to the US without much of a fuss, I actually drooled when he showed me the photos and told me the story. hey if you got to be loaded, you can be cool and be loaded and my friend is just that.

Nice story Hap.
