Sebring bonnet still a no-show

The seller called me last night and changed the story on the missing pink slip. Seems this kid is a cat's paw for a tow truck driving relative who took the car in a lien sale. I was born during the day, but it wasn't yesterday. He still claims that "good paper" is just days away on this car. I told him I was happy to be patient. No way I'm taking the car unless the paper is good. I haven't been burned yet and won't start on this one even though the bonnet tempts me mightily.

Without paper, it would be parted out and still be worth the 1K$ for the front discs, 3.9 RE, 1275 w/ribcase, rot-free shell and above all, the Sebring bonnet, but then I'd be stuck parting it out, selling and shipping. Not fun for me. The next week should tell the tale.

Offer him $200 for the bonnet if that is what you really want.

That's a pre-75 car...no title necessary to register in Alabama...just a bill of sale!

If I just buy the bonnet, I'll probably pull a mold off it. Then for my retirement I'll make and sell copies to all you guys.
