Since my car is not original I'm looking for a new set of seats to make a more enjoyable ride any suggestions will tr6 seats fit ,anything close to keeping it in the period

If you wont change completely the stile - I have find as very comfortable the 914 seats, some time ago on my glorious Land Rover,
probably you need some adjustment work, option can be seats of old Porsche or Alfa

I too was looking into different seats for my 3000 when I was restoring it....something that looked similar but had head rests and adjustable backs so it would be more comfortable and safer on long trips. The only viable one I could find was Alfa Spyder seats since they have to be so narrow to fit. Unfortunately they are hard to find that aren't rusted through.

I eventually stayed with originals to keep the period look, and they aren't so bad, just not as safe and the adjustable back would be nice.

Try Ridgardseats.com.uk. They custom make seats for our Healeys and Many other sports cars. Many people with back problems contact them to have seats specially designed to suit specific needs. In terms of proper classic look, fit and orthopedic requirements.

I was looking into these seat and may still purchase some. You can get them in any color combo or leather. Classiccarseats.com Coppa

My car (BN6) had TR6 seats in it when I bought it. I hated them! If you aren't too tall, you could get away with having them in there, and yes they provide better support/comfort. For me they completely ruined the look of the car as the headrests stuck up above the body, not to mention the fact that it made it a real squeeze to get in the thing. So yes it can be done, but any seats with headrests would in my opinion not be worth it.

I went and bought a new set of original style seats and put up with the lesser comfort.

Rick, those Welch seats look like Cobra Classics.

I would like to know what model and brand these seats are? they sure look nice and comfortable. I wonder if welsh had them narrowed to fit in his Healey? I would not mind having those in my BJ8.

I couldn't find any more info on the website listing: https://www.bighealey.co.uk/content/austin-healey-3000-bj8-full-house-rally-car-sale They have some seats for sale but look nothing like this and I'm guessing they must be at least custom upholstered. You might contact them directly.

I do know Ridgards custom seats in the U.K. Makes Custom seats like those pictured in Dennis Welshs Healey, They look right at home bolted in a Healey. Personally, I really need a better seat due to my back injury, and the headrest is something I need as well.

Richard got bak tome rom Dennis Welch and said he don't know where the owner got them from

Thanks for contacting Richard... I will shoot Ridgards seats a email as well and check his pricing out for a few seats for my BJ8. I suspect the shipping would be costly....but I will check it out. I want to ask him if he could make seats similar to Those in the Welsh car, except with a thinner "low Profile" Headrest. My thinking is that I could always adjust the thinner headrest up as needed when driving and lower it to give the Healey a more stream line look....make it disappear! Or maybe have him incorporate the headrest into the seat back itself so it can completely disappear when down!

If you take a closer look the headrest is smaller, its amazing with the healey community so into the cars its impossible to pinpoint the source of these seats
