Seats upholstered and the shrouds getting cracks fixed

Here are some of this weeks update photos from Fourintune. The painstaking effort that goes into the repair of the panels is a joy to watch. They use a local upholsterer and the results look really good to my eye. The frames and pans of my seats were able to be restored.

I hope they drilled a small hole at the end of the crack before they welded it ?
If they didnt you can bet they will come back again .

The seats look great. The one crack in the shroud looks as if it was welded before. You likely have a good aluminum welder lined up so that it won't recur. I likely would build that up a bit on the back side too.

I am not sure what the process is that Fourintune uses, (They are the restorer in Wisconsin) but I have been told by others that the metal guy there is excellent. When I took the car there Tom Kovacs specifically mentioned that they had a process to strengthen the areas most prone to cracking. So have every expectation that this will be done right.

Hence my question as to if they drilled a hole before welding .
Dollars to donuts if they didnt drill it it going to crack again .

Rear shroud pictured looks like BJ7 or 8, not a 100.
That's correct. Simon, my restorer also occasionally sent photos with someone else's car mixed in here and there! If it were me, I'd buy a handful of cheap digital cameras and assign one per project in order to keep it all straight.

Yep, you are right, wrong rear. I did not even think twice about it. Here is mine and another angle of the wrong one. Those real lamp reflector mounts should have stood out to me!
