I need to order new seat upholstery and remember some of you talking about the differences between the different vendors. Now that some time has passed, what where the results? Are the "big two" vendors going to be the same quality? I'd like to stay as original as possible.
I just priced junkyard Miata Seats last week. Found a nice set in Black and Grey Cloth with tracks and mounting hardware for $125.00. Take a look at latest Classic Motorsports, that's what they used in their Midget rebuild. 1/2 the cost of an upholstery kit from ther usual suspects, plus you gain an additional inch of legroom. Lets face it, Spridget Seats aren't the most comfortable things you can perch upon. You'll need to drill new mounting holes in the floorboards or modify the existing mounting hardware to fit. Not even a big deal to drill 4 more holes with a little extra in the way of a backing plate. That's the way I'm going to go.

I just had a local upholstry guy redo my bugeye seats.
$125 each I supplied the vinyl, but I bought enough of the vinyl to do all the other interior panels so everything matches. Vinyl and carpet, $150, seats dropped off and picked up finished $250. Total new interior $400.
That's a pretty good price and looks really nice as well! I think I may have to look into that. I have to order wuite a bit of stuff, so if the standard big guys are doing a % off sale, maybe I'll try their covers for "free". /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
