1960 Tr3A. Original seat springs.
these springs consist of 3 parts:

top frame: very good condition,
flat spring steel, the double perimeter coil springs are afixed to the top frame with clamp on clips.

springs : good condition
all the springs are interwoven together.
the inner coils are single springs, while the outer ones are double.
(several of the bottom connectors have rusted thru or are no longer connected, but did not effect comfort or stability.)
bottom frames: poor to fair condition.
(these wire frames need replacing or at least new sections spot welded in, one is fair condition, the other poor. They are a simple wire frame, Fixed to the springs w/ hog rings.)

i soaked everything in evaporust for 2 weeks & painted with rustoleum rust converting rattle can.

dont know if they will Last another 56 yrs, but they will probably out last us.

I think I will find a shop to make new stainless steel bottom frames.
I hate to discard these old things as they are not totally deteriorated yet. And now they have been rust treated, they are probably good for a few more decades image.jpg
