Seat Rail Wooden Buffer Strips

Hi All,

Did the TR4A come with wooden buffer strips that go under the seat rails? On my MGB, this was the case. The issue I'm having is that when I adjust the seat, it's bunching up the front carpeting.

If they didn't I was just thinking of adding another layer of insulation under the seats, thus raising them a bit so the seat rails can clear the front carpets.

Also, what sort of insulation is good to use underneath the carpets?

I did not find any wooden strips when I removed the seats on my 4A. I also used standard carpet insulation, as supplied by one of the big three, when I replaced my carpet.

Mine has ~3/16" fender washers under the rails. They're about 1-1/4od with 5/16 or 3/8" holes.

I'm not sure if they're original but I've seen others in photos so maybe.

Should not be any wooden strips. I don't recall anything under the rails but it's been quite a while.

Scott
