I believe you are identifying the vinyl interiors. Leather interiors were smooth.

Thx for getting back to me! The frame of I'm currently doing has just that, vinyl sq hole perforated inserts with all vinyl interior. I want to go back leather. I see some leather with the small hole perforated and some with no perforated.
So what you are saying is that the ones with the leather option, had no perforated? That sure would make this easier!

As I understand, the leather were smooth and the piping was the same color as the leather. The large checked squares on the rear side panels did not change, but the fold down rear squab ”squares” were eliminated and a roll/pleated pattern was used. IMO, the rear side panels would look better without the “squares”, but that’s not how they came and that’s exactly the way I did mine plus me piping color matched my carpet color.

I will follow up with photos of my interior.

I would love to see your pictures. There are so many different interpretations of what people remember it looked like.
If one was done in leather interior, was any part of the interior done in matching vinyl, ie: side panel pieces, rear seat back, etc?

Here is some photos of my interior. The color is “grey”, but is more like a eggshell white. The rear side panels are smooth because I wanted then that way. The Factory would have still used the “square” pattern which didn’t match anything else except the rear squab in vinyl interiors. I also went with the same color for door arm rests and dash pad. Seat Piping was done to match the carpet color. There were some BJ8’s from the factory with the grey, but had red or black carpet. Somewhere,I have photos of them.

Beautiful! Looks great! I just received all my leather and since I do all my upholstery, I can now get started! Thanks for the insight!
