Seat foam or cushions

Is there a "good" source for seat foam kits for a '66 sprite. It seems they are either out of stock or only one half is available at the major parts guys. Have the covers already and want an original look. Thanks,
 
I got mine (for a MK2 or Bugeye) from AH Spares.
The exchange rate was pretty good at the time, I believe about 1.38 and now it's back around 1.60 but even so I found the quality to be top notch and the service was excellent. Especially good if you also have a few other bits to add into the box to offset the hit for shipping.
I got foam kits, the "horsehair" stuff and covers and I also bought a few rubber pieces (windshield to body seal etc...)

Looking at their site I don't see any for later cars.

You could try Prestige Auto Trim - I've also had very good service from them.
 
I had to use some from a 68 parts car. They have a different pleat in the foam that is visible. In hind sight I could have glued in a piece from my old ones[I've done that before] then recut the pleat for the cover seam. Good luck in your quest. Probably hope some usable ones come up on flea-bay.

Thread about this recently, in particular, about carving your own seat cushions with an electric carving knife. Can't find it now, but a search should turn it up.
 
Thanks for the replies. My old ones are just to far gone to patch up but that might be my only hope, or carving new ones. If you find the link for a little "how to" that would be great.
 
Mike: I had some big chunks missing out of the seats I put in my bugeye. To fix them I cut foam from some junkers with a scissor. Nibbled away a little at a time to get the right shape to fill the holes them glued the pieces in with contact cement then more nibbling to get the final correct shape. The glue I'm confident will hold as good as the original foam and after covering they look and feel great. Tried the electric carving knife and for cutting big pieces it would work but for smaller nibbling with a sharp scissor worked best.

I recently replaced the drivers back cushion on my '67 with one from a '70BGT. Why? Because I had one. Very similer shape, i just had to cut down about an inch off the bottom. Put a piece I cut off the base and plugged the headrest hole. Looks great and very comfortable.
