Seat Cover Installation Help Needed

I will be installing new seat covers and foam this winter. Does anyone know of a website with good instructions for a do it your selfer?

I would do one at a time or take a lot of pictures during disassembly. It's always nice to have a model to work from.
I don't think the kit I used for my '74 had anything for the headrests.
Those seats were fairly easy to do. Don't be afraid to add or remove foam to get the beads where you want them.
You will want to install new diaphragms and possibly new back straps

David-

I've seen a write up before on this operation, but I haven't been able to come up with it - I thought it might be something Victoria British had as a how to, but its not on their site as far as I can tell. Hopefully someone else on this forum can point you to some visual aids.

Good luck,

If you are going to install prefabricated seat cover kits, then there is no problem. Once the old covers are off and the foam cushions replaced, the trick is to slide the new covers over without bunching up the foam.

Place a large plastic trash bag over the seat back, from the bottom. Now the seat covers will slide onto the back very easily. Once in place, pull the trash bag out from the bottom. Repeat the procedure for the seat cushions, beginning from the back.

I coldn't find much online either when I did my Spitfire. I couldn't get the photos to come up on Nelson Reidel's instructions (as posted by tdskip). But I found a couple of files that were helpful. One of them is for Spifire seat reupholstery, but much of the process would be the same for TRs.

If you send me a PM I will send you back an archive.

Thanks all for the help. Now if the seat foams will just come off backorder from TRF....
