Seat Belts

I know this sounds crazy... But I can't find a thread about how to put in seat belts!

My '65 Spit needs a couple, and I am wondering where to fasten the 2 huge bolts for each seat/lap belt.

Your Spitfire should have eye bolts in the floor already. If not, it almost certainly has at least the threaded holes for same. And a Mk2 should also have a bolt (or, again, at least a threaded and reinforced mount) well up on the rear wheelarch, for the shoulder belt portion, should you so desire.

Oh, if you see a reference to "BS AU 48 1965" on the commission number plate, it means that your car does (or at one time did) have seat belt mounting points complying with that particular British Standard.

Thanks for the help. Are the holes near the seat rails on the floor? Guess I'll jack her up a bit and take a look.

If I remember correctly, they are...more or less. The outboard ones should be obvious from the underside by a reinforcement plate onto which a large nut is welded. The inboard ones might not be so obvious, but I believe they actually screw into the chassis (at least that's where they are on Mk3 Spitfire and GT6+).
