seat belts TOO SHORT ??

WHat the heck?? I just installed the passenger seat belt. I think it is the original 1970 type, not retractable. It is too short. A normal person can nnot , could not, will not fit in this thing. I cannot even put my sons car seat in there. Is the retractable one from Moss or Vicy Brit longer. Or can I get extensions for this thing??

Woodie

If memory serves me correct they s/b adjustable, something simiar to a dog harness.

Paul,

I was very tempted to go there, but decided that I better not.

If it's any consolation Woodie, mine does the same, while the motor warms up, I do this dance with the seatbelt and eventually it comes out slowly, an inch at a time. If it has a rubber cover on it, I removed that and whipped some penetrant on the swivel.
IMPT: But please don't get it on the belt itself or it'll slip when it's supposed to retract in a collision.
Next day I could move it two inches at a time. Vicky Brit has them and I can't tell you how long they are, SM48 page 68. I think I'm heading in that direction too.

HAHA You guys are funny, adjustable lengths, south beach, dancing with belts, etc etc. Mine are non -retracting belts, they are fully extended, and are not long enough to have a 36 inch waisted person sit in them. I did some looking, and westco ?? (maker of belts) makes extensions, so does another company. One is a regular belt web with eye loops at both ends, one bolts to the car and the other bolts to the eye loop at the end of the belt, on sale for 19.99. The other site has a steel bar 8 inches long that bolts to the car, and then bolts to the belt. So off to Home depot I went, bought a 12 inch x 3/16x 1 inch bar in the fence/gate hardware section, comes with 6 holes pre drilled. I enlarged 2 to the right diameter and gave my setup a swiveling 8 inch extension for less than $10.00. Not pretty but functional. This will do till I get new belts next year.

Real Help, not a SA answer. The belts in my MGB, non-retractable type were to short. Years ago, I went to an auto upholstery shop and they added whatever length I really needed. Matched just fine
