Can anyone tell me what many of the dealer installed seat belts on BJ7's & 8's looked like. Did they attach to eyebolts on the floor or were they bolted directly to the floor. I know the third attach point was the 2 bolts on the back panels. Did the buckles have a logos on them? I have seen some with a large "MG" over a smaller "Austin Healey". Thanks for the info.

Hi Shorn, what you have seen regretably is the logo on the buckle. Yes, they connect to the eye-bolt on the tunnel and the other one affixed to the floor.--Fwiw---Keoke

YEP Shorn, I think you are right /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I keep mine turned upside down /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif---Keoke
Just like Daimler, when Jaguar came into the picture they added the leeper. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Seems like the Healey got second billing on the seat belt. I guess BMC was too cheap to come up with different logo's for each brand.

Shorn, last winter I installed new seat belts in my BJ7. They are a nondescript universal set that I bought from Moss. Have plain black buckels with red buttons to release. When I had my interior out I found what I believed to be the correct locations for attachment. on the sides of the tunnel at the rear are two bossed out sections with threaded holes approx 1/2 inch holes. then also at the inside rear of the rocker at the bottom of the "B" pillar. I can't remember if the bossed area is on the vertical body section or on the floor, but it also has the same threaded hole. If they aren't the right ones they sure work nice. Hope this helps.
