TR4/4A Searching for "How To" instructions for TR4 Tonneau

I have come across numerous posts that touch on tonneau installation, mostly TR3s and TR6s. Though I have a TR4, I believe a complete TR6 instruction might well work. The best I have thus far is factory pages for a Herald and though it is very good, I think TR4, 5, 250 or 6 instructions might serve me best.
Anyone out there with a copy in their file?
Thanks-

No written instructions but I have done a couple through the years.

Generally I start with the middle and work out.

Seems like all the ones sold are too small. How can that be? My theory is that some genius sourced a NOS factory tonneau and made a pattern from it not realizing how much they shrink over time. Now you're starting with one that's tight and will itself shrink through the years.

What that means for the installer is that the LTDs along the rear edge will probably need to be as close to the edge as possible... perhaps with the edge of the female LTD actually slipped under the binding a bit.

To get mine to where I could snap it on without shedding blood I made a modified snap plate for the forward center snaps that presents those snaps about a ½" rearward compared to the original plate.

Good luck.

I bought one from moss, paid an upholstery shop 75 to put it on It’s great, tight, fits perfectly, had it 2 years, still great

Just wanted to add my 25 cents worth. In December of 2016 I purchased a nice new tonneau cover from Moss. I installed the lift the dot fasteners at the extreme edges as I knew it would be a tight fit, which it was. Now I can never get all the fasteners to fasten even when I park in the sun and use pliers to pull with. End result is I use my old cover. It may be old and ratty looking but it does fit.

When I did the tonneau for my '59 TR3, several BCF members advised laying the tonneau in full sun on a hot day. Makes it more pliable and "stretchable".

Did that, installed it, nice and tight ever since.
