MGA Sealant for front plate?

Had a warped front engine plate, and it was leaking badly between block and plate, so I'd like to hear from others who have used sealant (RTV, aircraft Permatex or whatever) in installing it. I really don't want to have to disassemble it again. I don't care about the aesthetics, just preventing the leak. TIA.

I have hammered them straight, used permatex to glue gasket to block then a layer of permetax to cover and tightened. Then resnugged a few hours later. Problem with the hardened permatex is getting it back apart. Black sealer will work, just use thin layer to glue to block and a decent finger smoothed to cover tighten and come back in 10-15 to snug. What I do.
