Scuttle Vent Rubber placement

How does the rubber fit under the Scuttle Vent? Does anyone have a photo for this? Or can describe how the rubber seal fits under this vent? Thanks

There is a vertical lip all around the recessed area below the outer vent cover plate and the slot in the seal sits down (over) this vertical lip. You will have to remove the two springs and all the interferring bits (screws, clips and pins) that are preventing you from installing the new seal.

Also, a tab on the seal goes under the vent hinge screws...although I wound up cutting that tab off to lower the vent enough to fare with the scuttle top.

And I used a little weather strip adhesive on the groove that fits ove the metal lip.
