Screws for HS-2 carbs

I noticed last night that I am missing 2 screws that secure the top of the carb dome to the base. The dome can spin around but cannot come off as the oil damper pistons are in place.

A look at the same screw from Rear Carbs does not look like a standard thread. Are these Whitworth pitch, suggestions on a temporary fix, or can I safely drive Bugsy missing these screws. Tampa Bay All Brits show this weekend. Car does not seem to be behaving badly.

I believe you can use 10-24 (#10 UNC) screws for the vacuum domes and the float bowl lids. I'm pretty certain that I have at least one 10-24 on one set of carbs.

Thanks A Trip to Ace Hardware is in order today.

10/24 Cap screws worked. Success.

Strange that the motor would run without the vacuum chamber not being secured to the carb body. I would think that the piston would jam as it tries to move up in the chamber.
I know that if I do not tighten the screws evenly sometimes I can get the piston to hang and not fall with the Proverbial click onto the jet bridge.
Glad you got the screws. If you want sexy replace them with button head Allen screws, no mechanical advantage or anything but they look neat.

Yes the Phillips don’t exactly look cool. Got to refill dampers tomorrow before a trip over to All British Car Show in Tampa on Saturday morning.
