It was actually kind of funny. I rear ended a jacked up early seventies Nova. It looked a lot like the car from "Death Proof." It had a full cage and everything. Had I hit any other car of the 100s that were in the stop and go traffic on the freeway, my car would not be wearing an eye patch right now. But I was lucky enough to hit the one steel bumpered car on the road. :laugh:

The only real damage was to my beauty ring. I will be in the market for a new one of those. Oh well. It was time.
 
I hate when that happens. Glad you're OK and (apparently) no big deal.

Hopefully you (yourself) are ok. It wasn't one of those rush hour traffic things out on Mopac or a 'california driver' cutting in front of you was it?

(Please excuse the following rant)
For those of you who aren't Austinites, it seems of late (at least to me) that we now have a rash of overly aggressive drivers in our fair city. Even when I am driving my pickup truck, I still have 'invincible' people doing their best to enter the pearly gates early by 'diving' into a lane at high speed, at the last minute, without any signal or warning of any kind.

I may be an old and cantankerous person, but it seems to me that newer drivers are learning to drive by watching NASCAR Demo Derby's and then finding their licenses in a box of Captain Crunch vs. having to attend a reputable driving school and understanding that with the driving license comes considerable responsibility and accountability.
(ok, Rant off)

Anyone else out there experiencing the same things, or am I just having numerous 'Senior Moments' while driving?

They are not driving. They are texting , talking checking the GPS , and 10 other devices that keep them from driving. The first thing I taught my sons how to drive
was to just drive. No radio no cd just drive. After they were driving one rule on cd Start it up before you leave and don't mess with it when driving. NO wreck NO tickets they are now 28 and 24. The younger one now a paramedic and he has to use several devices while driving. However he has a copilot that is watching traffic
 
Sim, why isn't the co-pilot handling the devices while your son does the driving and watching? :crazyeyes: It seems to me that the driver should be doing just that...driving...especially in an emergency vehicle!!
 
only 2 on board when they are transporting, the paramedic in the back. I do agree that the driver needs to only drive. However I am not with them so I do not know the complete picture.

I have had more than one person actively try to kill me because I forced them to lightly tap their brakes a few seconds before they would have had to anyway because of traffic or a stop light. Ridiculous!

I have never heard of any pot festival... unless you mean ever second of every day here in Austin.

I wish more people in Austin drove like they were high, instead of driving like Reagan-era coke heads. Though I must say they guy that I rear ended was exceptionally cool about the whole thing.

As for pictures... if you have seen a busted out headlight, you have seen the damage my car sustained.
