I was working station #7 and the this happened at #4.
(4 is one up from 7 if you know Nelson Ledges)

We figured this car was worth 32 Pintos

(there was nothing left of the underside on account of it getting hung up on a Armco supporting pole)

And we had an emergency at 11 on Sunday...
A FE hit the tire wall and his telemetry said 138 mph with NO steering or brake input...YIKES!!!

woof!

I wonder if you can squeeze that engine into your elva now?

You can have the left half and I'll take the other side.

There are more than enough cylinders for both our cars.

Whoa! Pucker Factor!

*This* is why I race cheap, disposable cars.

We had a BMW 325 and a 944 hit the concrete wall at Pocono yesterday.....someone always gets bit.
The Beemer will be fixed. The 944 not. But both guys were OK.

The Viper cabin looks OK, so I'm gussing the driver was OK (other than his undergarments).

And what's an "FE"?

Yea... The Viper guy was on his cell phone trying to get another car for Sunday.

Didn't even seem concerned.

FE = Formula Enterprise
Don't know that much about em.
It's a SCCA car...Built by them like the SRF.
They are just starting to show up on the track.

BTW...We had a brand new flagger at that station working blue when it happened...
I guess his eyes got real big... :eeek:

The screaming was the best part. He says it was from being "[censored] off".

EDIT: Ugh. Ok, you'll have to visit the video page to read the banned word. It's another word for mad.

mehheh.

'nother one from a drivers' school, too. Turn 13.

Best thing I ever saw at Pocono when we where racing there in the mid 70's. A "real" big Cobra burning on the back banking.
Not the small block one, BIG BLOCK
