I just happened upon an estate sale today and was able to pick up...

A Canonet QL17 complete with the proper camera case, Canolite D flash, Hoya Skylight 1B filter, and even a Sekonic Auto-Lumi light meter

And all for $7 :thumbsup:

Now to find out if the camera actually works... The camera is certainly in very good condition... And so far I'm very happy

Great buy Sherlock! I still use my Contax 139 and full frame 35mm Rollie... they are great cameras but is film on the endangered list?
 
Unfortunately not... My wish list adds up about $4K to $5K, not a mere $7 for an old camera...

And film? I certainly think that film will be around for quite some time yet, just not as a mass market thing, there are enough photographers who do it the old school way to keep it alive.

I was actually encouraged recently. I recently met a high school student (whose dad happens to be a veteran photographer), his dad passed on his medium format film cameras to him and he loves those cameras! They still have a dark room in their basement... Dad is focusing more on the digital end these days, leaving the film to his son...
 
Sherlock, you need some awesome darkroom equipment! I've got the deal for you! That Durst enlarger is just sitting in my basement with a bunch of other darkroom goodies. I'd make you a great deal on all of it. The hangup would be transport...

I unfortunately don't have enough room for a dark room in my present situation, thanks for the offer anyway... On the plus side, I do know a few people who have their own dark rooms... :thumbsup:
