Is he going to sell the top?
The answer is yes, he sold it to me! The second part of that question is, no, I don't want to sell it!
It is for my wife's 66 Sprite.
I really don't know why the friend of a my friend purchased this car. So far, the only thing he has gotten off of it has been the wire wheels. I think he thought that he could use the hardtop on his Mark IV Midget. I expect to see the parts show up on eBay in the next couple of months. That is, what is left of that poor car. The front end is rusted away! The hood is missing the first couple of inches due to rust!
I heard the joke that a LBC doesn't have much rust when you can't get both feet thru the holes in the floor boards! This car has RUST! There aren't any floor boards!
BTW, I have been told in separate messages that it is indeed a factory hardtop and that there are parts available for it! It needs new window rubber and the rubber that goes around the door window openings. It does have the mounting hardware which is a big plus.
Once I have it in my possession (currently it is "protecting" the interior of the car?), I will look into what it needs.
First, though, I am going under the knife (AGAIN!) for my other shoulder (rotator cuff torn). I lost last year for my right shoulder (same thing, rotator cuff torn). Looks like I will lose the rest of this year rehabbing my left shoulder.
