Scooter cars

These little cars are always intriguing...One year at a show they had me park my TR3B next to a Vespa 400. My car looked quite big by comparison.

I enjoyed this video that's posted on the link I included.

Fun stuff! It's been mentioned here before, but Lane Motor Museum in Nashville has a great collection of micro cars, as well as other oddities. Well worth a visit. Click on the Collection tab and scroll through:

Fun indeed! A good friend collects them - (I got the Multipla from him - a Microcar) He has a Bond Bug - in the article - I have ridden in it - very different experience - an Isetta (in his basement) - A friend has a 3/4 restored Scootacar (also in the article) in my friend's shop - a Vespa Ape - A Daihatsu Trimobile (awaiting restoration) - A Crosley Wagon - A Lloyd - another Bond & the list Goes on. They are amazing - and BIG bucks - for the most part - Isetta or Messerschmitt could be easily 5 times the cost of one of our LBC's.

Saw on The American Pickers where a guy has a whole building full of Messerschmidts, largest collection I ever heard of. I don't remember where it is at, but he is very reluctant to sell any of them. Mike & Frank tried to buy one but couldn't come to terms on a price. PJ

My same friend has a Smart Car and two Kei Cars - Suzuki Carry and an S Cargo. He loves them - especially the Kei cars - he gets to go to microcar meets and cruises with AC!

The next generation, micro car?

I'm not so sure.... if the Elio ever gets into production that could be the next micro car for the masses.

They make you smile.
A couple years ago one of Norwegians that came thru on The Lincoln Highway was driving a Messerschmidt. They shipped about 30-40 cars to drive highway 30 and he was doing it. Most popular were American convertible sleds.
