A Biologist, a Chemist and a Physicist were working on an industrial research project to help explain the disappearance of a farmer’s chickens. Each of them watched night after night as the chickens went into the henhouse, but none ever emerged again. When they looked into the henhouse, no chickens were to be found.

When the farmer asked the Biologist for an explanation, he said that there was undoubted predation happening, but the variability of the system prevented a statistically significant conclusion from being reached.

The Chemist said that undoubtedly the chickens were there, but he needed a very large grant to buy more sensitive instrumentation to be able to detect them.

Meanwhile, the Physicist was busy scribble furiously on a large pad of paper. He covered page after page, writing frantically. Eventually, he shouted “I have it! However, the solution only works for a spherical chicken in a vacuum…”

Sounds like some of the engeneers I have worked with, when the solution to a problen was obvious they just couldn`t grasp the concept even though I thouroughly explained it to them.

It`s called bieng an OVER EDUCATED IDIOT! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif

Sounds a lot like some of the technicians I've worked with, who think they've got it all figured out, but don't know enough to realize that they're way off base.

Best regards,
Overeducated Engineer
