I looked at the results for the Runoffs,&
noticed that there were still some old familiar
names there (LBC's).Good to hear!
We also had a local do well (2nd) in his 350Z.

Basically HP, is the only domain left for British sports cars..

E, has gone all Mazda RX7 and Miatas
except for one lone TR6, and a few chaterhams (sp?)

FP has some MGBs and spitfires, but is pretty much outgunned by Hondas and the like,

GP, Once a domain for spitfires and 1100 sprites, is gone, replaced by Rabbits and hondas, except for K. Prather in a very hot MGA..

only HP, still has the proverbial, Sprite, Midget, Bugeye, spitfire that is competitive.... sigh, when I ran my spitfire in the runoffs, we had about 11 spits and about six sprites in GP that year, (02) but the writing was in the wall as 190HP 510's just motored away from us on the straight...

Intresting, at the end of the mid Ohio straight, I was only about 4 mph slower on radar than the bigger cars..but it took me the whole straight to get to that speed..

.. Its a sad demise, but, hey, afterall, most of these cars are 35years+ old!!!!!

FP had one of the best battles of the weekend involving a Miata and a Midget. Spitfires are still fast in the right hands and so is the MGB.

What saved HP ultimately killed GP.

A lot of racers are very disastisfied with the current Runoffs (entries were down by 100 this year!) and I know there will be less there next year.
