I'm still chasing termite damage thru th' hovel. Bathroom is now non-functional, have to re-frame the walls and found yesterday the li'l monsters made it into a couple roof trusses before we did the scorched earth treatments.

I swear they have mechanical engineers on staff... they ate ~just~ enough to progress thru the lumber and NOT enough to allow structural failure! Now that they're gone and no longer maintaining the runs, all has dried out and we have paper mache holding up a wall between bath and kitchen. :shocked:

This damage mitigation all began with discovery of a water leak UNDER the bathtub, two weeks ago. :eeek:

While we're in there I will re-plumb the place, as we have 30+ year old copper plumbing running IN the concrete pad. Going overhead with PVC/CPVC and hopefully precluding any more LEAKING and a servicable system.

Any volunteers? I need a carpenter, a plumber, an electron chaser and day labor to haul scrap... so-far it's jus' me an' 'smits. The so-called 'friends' have evaporated. Wait 'til one of 'em needs automotive help again. I know a great auto repair shop, they need the work. I'm too busy.

Ahhhh Doc; that's a bad news situation indeed. Those bugs will probably have eaten their way into places you've yet to find...once started they seem to go EVERYWHERE. Keep the earth scorched and the spirits up. Sorry too many miles away to be of help!

Doc...Carla and I had the same termite problem this Spring...paper mache walls and all. Really bad news bugs !! Wish I could get over there to help since I can do carpentry, plumbing and electrical but...I'm too far away !! Sorry.
