Saw first Elise up close

I'm in C. Springs for some business out at Schriever AFB and when I was leaving work tonight I saw a new Lotus Elise leaving the parking lot. I managed to flag the guy down and chat with him a bit (and of course I invited him to join the forum). What a cool car! One thing that struck me was how extremely thin the seat backs were. Seem like they were no more than an inch thick on the seat backs! Very spartin car, but looked like it would be a blast!

There were two or three of them at the Louisville show. You're right - they look like they'd be a blast to drive. On our way to VTR a couple of weeks ago, a blue one passed us on the interstate, and the passenger gave us a thumb's-up for the TR3 on the trailer. I returned his salute, and they blasted away from us. Don't know how comfortable they are, as they look TINY. But really nice go-karts!
