That is kind of the story of my fix it life, I actually have it kind of organized, but despite 50 little drawers or so full of hardware, seems like what I need often as not involves a trip to the hardware store.
 
My dad always said: "If there's one in there, there's bound to be another."

Most times he was right.

And sometimes it is just easier to go to the store. We recently (last week) got hardwood flooring to replace the nasty carpet in the house. As we put the house to rights we have to put sliders under the furniture. I know <know> tha in the last 30 days I saw a set of 4 sliders as I was looking for something else. I know <know> that it will be easier to go to the store and buy some rather than try and remember where I saw them. :rolleyes2:

That's the sure way to find the ones you were looking for.
 
Don't worry you will be stepping on them and sliding any second now.

Yeah, I have a hardware store 5 minutes away. As I have gotten older there are many times when looking for something for anywhere from 30 seconds to an hour and maybe finding it (always in the last place you look, right,?) is a loser to spending twenty minutes and a few dollars at the hardware store with a much more certain timeframe and outcome.
