Saturday night at the Drive-In

We are fortunate enough to still have a functioning drive-in theatre in our area. Tonight we went to see ET and I drove the MGB. It was fun, but a tad on the cool side!

What, no back seat to crawl into. Oh, you are a little past that.

Brings back good and bad memories. Mosquito coils!

Most kids today would ask, "What's a drive-in?"

For those of you in the northeast USA, the ~Warwick NY Drive-In Movie~ is still in operation too.

My cousins lives down the street from it, so we've been there several times (It's about 40 miles from us).

Also, this is apple-picking and wine tasting season in Warwick, so it's a great time for that too

(my younger daughter and her husband met up with my cousins and did that yesterday)

Peter, they just tore down one of the last in our area. Was a mile down the street. Now I've only been there once in the 30 years I've been in the area it was still an Iconic location and was on out trail for our daily walk.
In it's place is a 4 floor medical building that will create a freeway on our street to get to it.

We've got the Elmira Drive-in about 7 miles from here. 2 screens, one at each side of the field. Got rather peeved last time I went and the other movie let out and as the others left, they kept turning on headlights and washing out our screen, and driving in front of us... I got rather upset, and haven't been back since.

Miss the movies at the drive in! grew up next door to the one banjo mentioned and would sneak in every night during the summer!
