While sitting here with coffee and watching the snow falling (really pretty, by the way), I thought about my earlier Saturday mornings in front of the TV. Rather than fire that up, I thought I'd rummage through YouTube and stumbled on this piece by Carroll Shelby on development and racing of the Cobra, GT350, and Ford GT. Not a long film, but fun:

Peter Brock is a great guy. I've met him and his wife Gayle a number of times.

...and on a related note: If you're interested in racing history (particularly as it relates to Shelby), there's a new book out by Art Evans.

Art Evans began racing in the 50’s, has been a good friend to most of the sports car community in California, in particular Carroll Shelby, Ken Miles, Phil Hill, Ritchie Ginther, Dan Gurney, Peter Brock and John Morton (with whom he lunches once a week in Redondo Beach!).

Art's new book is about John Fitch. If you mail Art a $35 check (no credits cards) he'll personalized the copy he sends you.

Yeah - an early one, to be sure. Just about all gone now, but still 34 degrees. Was pretty while it lasted.

...I'm in denial of winter. Have to sacrifice an HOUR of precious daylight on a whim of bureaucrats as it is.
