San Diego Conclave

:yesnod: Me 'three'.

Well, not next week but tomorrow. I'm joining George and Sherry Haywood in driving our BJ8s from eastern North Carolina to San Diego, leaving in the morning.

Bill S and Bill S are driving BN1 and BN7 from Albuquerque, we plan to leave next Saturday. We are real excited about driving these cars through Yuma and El Centro in June! We may do it at night if the weather stays as hot as it is now. I heard that I-5 melted today and the Pacific Ocean started to boil.....

We plan to have dinner with a group traveling to SD from back east (perhaps the NC BJ8?) on Tuesday.

I registered late and am # 171 -- sounds like a good turnout in spite of the high price of gas. San Diego is a fabulous town, they did a great job in 99 with their healey event.

We will be leaving Tucson Sunday morning between 3:00 and 4:00. Stop in Gila Bend for breakfast about 2 hrs later. The objective is to get through Yuma/El Centro and up the mountain before noon. We will be driving a BT7 and trailering a BN1. It's going to be Hot. It was 109 F in Tucson today. Supposed to cool off a little by next weekend.

Anyone wanting my phone numbers, PM me.

Be cool if the BCF folks could get together.

Unfortunately Jean and I will miss this one, but we just sent Bob and Pat Brown (BT7) from Chicago and Ian and Wendy Gibbs (AN5 of the Browns) from Syndey, AU off on their Route 66 odyssey to San Diego.
Miss BT is not at all happy with us!!

I'm not going to get to go this year. (a shame since San Diego's only a stone's throw from Phoenix.)

If anyone's passing through Phoenix and needs anything let me know!

I am very impressed with the treks that some of you are taking your Healeys on. It's inspiring me to plan a regional trip of my own (nothing like the several thousand miler than some of you are embarking on). I was changing my oil yesterday and noted that I have logged just barely over 500 miles on my AH 3000 in the last two years :eeek:

Anyway have fun guys... oh and by the way... if you need a reputable mechanic in San Diego, for any reason, I would recommend Randy Zoller at Heritage Motorsports. He's VERY good, honest, and does more than his fair share to keep Healeys on the road.

Sorry, I can't make it this year. I'm in Kona until July 4th. I know, it's tough, but someone has to be here. Aloha and have a great time all...
