Was wondering if anyone has a Salvado blue paint sample they can share. Happy to cover your cost for time and shipping.

Thx

Vic,
I’m at the beach, Outer Banks of NC, will be home Sun aft. I can do you a sample and provide name of potential supplier. Let me know what form you would like the sample to be.

Thanks so much for your consideration. No rush on this, just trying to get it sorted over the next few months. As for form, if you could just dip a sprayout card (or similar) into your paint, that would do. I use several shops here in Pittsburgh that do custom mixing and should be OK once I have a sample to work with. If you have a formual, that would also be great. But really hope to get a color swatch to see if it's what I want.

I am putting this on an early '56 TR3 and am thinking of using a single stage paint? Any thoughts as to this vs base/clear?

Thanks again
Vic

I am attaching a picture of the car I am trying to duplicate (I don't own this).

That's a really stunning car. Love the color and other finishes. Look forward to catching up when you are bock home.

I would go clear over basecoat, pale blues like reds are prone to fade when its a solid colour,

That car was painted around 6 years ago and has base/clear. I did the twin about 22years ago with enamel. I restored both of them. Jim has really spruced his up since then.

PM sent. We're going to be in State College minding our grandchildren later this month, but my wife gave me the look when I mentioned taking the 4yo grandson to either the Pitt or Schenley Park races.
Hopefully two more contrasting pictures will appear below.
