I'm researching vintage saloon racers for an upcoming project.
And I'm *really* enjoying some of the old, period photos.
Like these below....

Those are nice old pix! You can also find some pretty neat vintage film footage of saloon racing on youtube!
 
Even more fun (depressing) is doing a search on vintage 'Banger Racing'... will make you cry!!!!
 
Looking at the size of the vehicles present, early mini's, Austins, etc. I believe that the category description of Saloons is wrong.


These are all mini cars, not full size Saloons, mebbe "bars" or even mini-bars?????
 
The term "mini car" is a relatively recent one (probably coined with the introduction of the Mini!!), referring to much newer cars than these. These were all considered saloons (albeit small ones!) and they would all get you down to the pub!! :thumbsup: :cheers:
