Sad Sad Day!

Just spent the day cutting up a spridget body that was too far gone to save. Thought it was going to be a replacement for the body I currently have but turned out that it was worse than the one I have. Did manage to save a few panels off of it but most of it is in the back of my truck to be tossed in the scrap metal dumpster. Wish things could have turned out differently.

Sometimes sacrifices have to be made, at least it will help keep another on the road... On the bright side at least it's cheaper than getting a heritage shell!

I will say it again. You guys in the south and in Calif are sooo spoiled with rust.

That one you scrapped, Was it anything like this?

This is what us others get to fix. Fortunately we get very good at fabrication.

Hey JC!

Do you still have it around? What condition are the frame extentions in the front—the part that the radiator and sway bar mounts to?

Mine look like they lost a fight with a jack or a parking block or something.

That part is in pretty good shape to be honest with you. I need to make sure that I didn't cut them. I know I didn't hack on the bumper mounts but seems like I might have cut into one of the lower extension. I did cut the cross member right in half. You're talking about the part that the sway bar brackets mounts to right?

That's the one (or pair). It has the two semi-triangular pieces that rise to form radiator mounts as well. If they are good, I'll buy them from ya'.

Sorry bud, they didn't make it. Just drove over to where I work to look in the scrap metal dumpster I put them in last night. Looks like I got a little crazy with the sawzall right in there. I had an entire front valance back to the shock mounts that I had bought off ebay a couple years back and wasn't real particular about that portion when I chopped it up. I'm sorry man, I don't think it was in that great of shape anyway. BTW, I would have let you have it for whatever it cost to ship.

No worries. Don't need to be starting a new project now. New baby is due in May and I have to get the car road worthy before then, 'cause there ain't gonna be any time to work on it after.

Morris, babys sleep a lot, in fact eat, sleep, and make dipers dirty is all they do.

But 2 years olds scream and climb bookcases and pick up dog poo and kick mamma and pull her hair etc. etc. etc.

My job is going to be managing all that so mamma can feed, sleep and change diapers.

I started my first car project after my first child was born. I seemed to have ample time. I started my second car project after my second child was born... I've hardly made any progress. But... they are only children for a short time and the spridgets will be spridgets for a looong time.

Hmmm, a bit of time out is in order, never too young to learn.

Oh yea, two year olds sleep a lot as well, afternoons, and after 7 in the evening.

Not mine. She is too much like her Daddy.

Oh... and she looooooves my car. She does gymnastics on the roll bar. I can't wait till she is old enought to work on it!

Same stories here. Midget bodies, kids & hobbies. I cut up a RWA and it killed me. I may have those front rail extensions.

That would be great!

Hey Morris never mind looking after the older one you will also be up for the 2am feeding.
