From Patrick Quinn:

"I have just heard from Charles Matthews in the UK that Bic Healey passed
away this morning.

Bic contracted pneumonia earlier this week, but unfortunately the
antibiotics didn't work and he lost the battle. The family were with him
and he passed peacefully.

Arrangements will be posted on both the Austin Healey Club and Healey
Drivers Club websites once made.

A sad day indeed."

Bic Healey Has Passed On

Below is a FB posting from Jim Werner on the Austin Healey Club of America site. Thought you all would want to know this."I regret to have to share the news with you that Bic Healey passed away earlier today. His family and dog were with him. Bic had fallen a number of months ago and had to spend about three months in the hospital trying to recover from a broken hip. As I understand the situation it sounds like pneumonia is what Bic could not overcome. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. At this point I do not have information regarding the funeral service or burial.Bic was a wonderful person and did an excellent job of enjoying life. He will be missed. Please pass on the information to others that you know would want to be aware of this sad moment in the lives of all of us in the Healey world.Sincerely, Mike Schneider"

Bic was, of course, DMH's sole surviving son. I last saw him in November 2012 at the opening of the Healey Museum in the Netherlands. He looked reasonably well at the time, especially considering that he was 87 years of age. He was 88 at the time of his passing.

Interestingly, DMH lived longer than any of his three sons.

Bic's passing represents the passing of a generation. Thank goodness we got to know them and hear of their lives - they lived in a golden age of motorsport that will not be repeated.

Very sad news, a life well lived.

The first trophy I ever received was presented to me By BIC I have the picture in an album but not on the computer.

Very sad news, the end of an era for the Healey Marque. For what it is worth, I had come across a Craigslist advert for a signed print https://hartford.craigslist.org/pts/4401379952.html most of you long time members of AHCA would I am sure know about this, and even have a copy? Anyway, I purchased one from the seller, who was part of the team that made this print happen and got them all signed. I am looking forward to the delivery later this week sometime. Seemed appropriate to order it on the day that Bic died.
