Sacramento Trip

We're in Sacramento right now.
On the trip down here I saw:
A Green E-type coupe (in Ukiah),
a rubber bumper MGB in Sacramento,+
a couple of newer Jags on the highway.
We also had two teenage girls in a
New Beatle go flying by us on a two lane
highway,almost hitting a car coming the other
way head on.Haven't such a close call in a long
time.Other drivers were driving on the shoulder
(both ways)to help avoid an accident.They were
doing about 75 in a 55 zone.
A few miles down the road I spotted a Highway-
- Patrol car parked on the side of the road.Two of us
stopped.I told the officer what happened,& he took off
immediately after them.about 10 miles down the road,he
got them.I noticted that he was writing a ticket.
Hopefully this will sink in to the driver.Sometimes
there IS a cop around when you need one.

Good job!!!!! It's a dream come true when you can hand out justice like that. I'm pretty relaxed about people who bend the rules a little. Depending on the situation, and as long as it isn't unsafe, I don't see any reason for worrying about adhering strictly to every traffic law. Sometimes you simply wish a person would get a ticket, but other times it's truly a crime if they don't get one.

I'm with Steve -- normally I'm fine with some vehicular rule-bending, but it is nice to see unsafe driving rewarded with a ticket. It sure sounds like it could have been much worse.
